不知道你有没有发现一个有趣的现象：
家长不会打骂婴儿，却会打骂儿童。
要知道，照顾婴儿可要比照顾儿童麻烦的多，做过父母的人都知道，婴儿是很难沟通的，是胡搅蛮差、自私自利、没有理性可言的小动物。
相比之下，儿童不仅省事很多，而且他们能和父母沟通，是有一点自我控制力的人。
但奇怪的是，当婴儿长大，变得更懂事时，父母的耐性却消失了，体罚、羞辱、训斥等惩罚措施开始成为很多家长的日常教育方法。
为什么家长不会打骂婴儿，却会打骂儿童？
其实，每个家长一开始都是疼爱孩子的，并不会用打骂的手段。
这是因为在婴儿时期，家长更多的是照顾，还不能算作教育。
我们用电脑来帮助理解，照顾孩子更像是使用电脑，而教育孩子则是要给电脑编程，这是两种完全不同的技能，很多家长对此准备不足，他们以为照顾就是教育。
在孩子 1～2 岁时，转折点就出现了，当需要从照顾向教育转变时，很多家长遭遇了重大的教育挫折。
他们会发现，孩子不好管束、更不好教育。孩子并不听从家长的话，家长只好不断的提高嗓门，惩罚也越来越严厉。所以家长的惩罚并非一步到位、上来就打骂，而是有一个逐渐升级的过程。
原来的疼爱逐渐会变成怨恨和愤怒，当家长失去信心时，他们情急之下就会做出打骂孩子的举动。而小孩因为情绪上的恐惧，会马上变得非常顺从。
这其实是所有社会性动物的特点，狼、狮子、猩猩等高级社会性动物，在面对同伴的攻击时，如果无力抵抗都会表现出顺从的姿态。

所以暴力性的惩罚就是最原始的、让人服从的方法，既然社会性动物都会使用这个方法，就谈不上什么科学先进。动物和人都在利用服从作为基石来构筑等级社会，服从者就是等级的最底层。
正是因为狼的社会化属性，它才会被人驯化成狗。当然你也可以预见，这种以服从为目的的教育，在未来会让孩子遭遇难以克服的障碍，被困在社会底层无法突破，这一点在后面还会分析。

孩子的顺从，会让很多家长产生一种错觉：原来打骂是有效的教育方法，孩子马上听话了！
原来“打是亲、骂是爱！”
原来“小时候父母打我是为我好！”，我今天才知道错怪了父母。
原来“棍棒底下出孝子”是很有道理的！老一辈的方法不能扔，孩子大了就能明白！
我从小就被打骂，不也没事吗？
这其实是家长对自己打骂孩子给出的合理化解释，因为只要自己的行为是合理的，就能掩盖自己在良心上的不安，就能防御别人的谴责，就可以让自己狠下心来，对孩子进行更重的惩罚。
也正是因为如此，在人类数千年的文明史里，学校也一直在用惩罚的方法来管束和教育学生。下面这块泥板是 4000 年前一个苏美尔小孩写的，他因为犯错，多次被老师抽打，这可能是关于学校体罚的最早记载。

请注意我加粗的字体“caned me”，这是抽打的意思。根据这块泥板所描述，小孩至少被老师抽打了 10 次。

古代教育使用体罚至少有四千年的历史，无论学校和家长都在使用体罚的手段，我们中国当然也不例外。
在电影《霸王别姬》里，有个很经典的场景:
戏班师父考功课，让学徒们唱曲。

师父先考小石头。
小石头唱：想俺项羽乎，力拔山兮气盖世，时不利兮骓不逝，骓不逝兮可奈何，虞姬虞姬奈若何！
师父称赞：成，一字不差！伸手！
抽一板子，小石头懵逼了：怎么唱对了也挨打？
师父解释：打你，是让你记着，下回还得这么背！！
接下来轮到考小豆子了。
小豆子唱：小尼姑年方二八，正青春被师傅削去了头发，我，我本是男儿郎……（我死定了）
师父怒，狠狠的抽打：你本是女娇娥！！！
因为害怕，小豆子形成了错误的情绪记忆，总把“女娇娥”错唱成“男儿郎”。
结果就是被师父打烂了手。
古代的家长和老师，他们缺少系统的心理科学和教育知识，也缺少高效的教学方法。
他们就像瓶子里的苍蝇，靠着试错、凭着经验，来摸索教育的道路。而人是一种社会化动物，天生就知道要服从强者，所以打骂等惩罚方法就是他们最容易发现的一条出路。
打骂惩罚孩子，根本原因是家长和老师在教育方法上的匮乏，或者说他们是被困在最原始的局部最优解里跳不出来，不知道还有其他局部最优解或全局最优解的存在。

就像“夜郎自大”成语故事里的国王，在知道汉帝国之前，他认为夜郎国是最厉害的，是全局最优解。等遇到了汉帝国，才知道自己只是局部最优解之一。
当然每个人的教育方法都是自己领域里的局部最优解，区别只是我们所接触到的领域有多大，以及自己是什么样的心态。
我们是抱定了“天是圆的，井口那么大”，“老祖宗几千年的东西不会错、不能丢”；还是承认“天外有天”，一定要找到更好的方法来替代旧方法。
这两种心态所探索出来的教育道路必然是天壤之别。
有人可能会问：你只说了打骂不科学、不先进，但还有很多教育失败的孩子就是因为家长溺爱、不打骂造成的。你并没有论证不打骂到底是不是科学的、先进的！
其实，简单的把教育分成打骂和不打骂，恰恰是对教育缺乏了解的体现。用二分法给教育分类是很容易的，在他们的眼里，教育就像下图这么简单。
但是，二元论非常容易导致批斗和撕逼，不同立场的人会互相攻击，一方认为“不打骂=溺爱”，另一方则认为“打骂=虐待”。
实际上，教育并不是简单的二元论，更真实的教育不是简单的打与不打，也不是溺爱和虐待，而是一个不断继承与升级的进化过程。
下面这个图更能直观的体现出教育和打骂之间的关系。
你会看到，虐待和溺爱从来都不属于教育的范畴，他们都属于错误教育的范畴，压根就不该去争论。
古代教育的确经常用打骂作为教育的方法之一，但是也有大量不使用打骂的教育方法。现代教育尽管还有惩罚，但也不再依赖打骂，而未来教育会比现代走的更远，因为会有更丰富、更有效的激励手段可以发明出来，供家长和老师使用。
作为家长不应该去论证“打骂对不对”来为自己辩护，这会让你停留在古代。更好的做法是了解现代教育有哪些方法已经完全可以替代打骂，去了解儿童心理学、认知心理学，去了解人的心智是如何发展的，这些才是科学先进的知识。
那如何看待学校里最没有规矩的孩子，就是家长舍不得教训的？
首先这是一个事实，的确有溺爱造成的教育失败，但这不能说，是不打骂导致了教育失败，这两者的区别巨大，很多人分不清楚这一点。
溺爱是家长教育方法匮乏的另一种表现。很多家长知道打骂孩子是错误的，但又缺少更好的教育方法，于是他们找到了体罚之外的另一条容易的出路——贿赂和讨好孩子。
当孩子生气、哭闹时，很多家长会选择转移注意力的方法来让孩子不哭闹。
“别哭了，这有个好玩的玩具！乖，不哭！”
“别生气了，给你个好吃的糖！好吃吗？听话，不生气！”
这就是在贿赂和讨好孩子，短期确实能让孩子不哭闹。
但也造成了一个严重恶果，家长无意之间奖励了孩子的生气和哭闹。
有些孩子会发现，只要生气和哭闹就会获得家长关注，就能得到玩具和糖果。这种激励让孩子不去学会控制自己的情绪，而是肆无忌惮的滥用情绪，经常用无理取闹来控制家长，用撒泼打滚来得到自己想要的东西。
离开家庭进入学校，这种孩子还会把无理取闹做为武器来控制同学和老师。因为孩子没有学会控制情绪，不知道还有其他方法来获得同学的友情和老师的关注。他们知道的是，只要撒泼打滚最终能得到自己想要的。
所以最没有规矩的孩子是家长溺爱的结果，是家长的贿赂和讨好，错误的激励了孩子无理取闹的行为，而不是不打骂导致的结果。不打骂是躺枪、是被冤枉的。
家长应该教会孩子控制情绪，正确的和别人相处，这才是教育。这就是为什么，虐待和溺爱从来都不属于教育的范畴。
面对孩子的哭闹，除了打骂难道还有更好的方法？
有，而且方法非常多。
骂孩子不让他哭是压抑、对抗孩子的情绪，而用糖果玩具来溺爱则是逃避孩子的情绪。
现代教育中更好的方法是与情绪合作，家长理解和接纳孩子的情绪，帮助孩子把负面的情绪释放出来，再用同理心对孩子进行教育。
当孩子遇到不顺心的事情哭闹时，可以这样来做：
家长首先要控制住自己焦虑、烦躁的情绪。
控制焦虑的前提是理解孩子的心理，这样才能接纳孩子的痛苦。
家长要用肢体来拥抱孩子，让他痛痛快快的把情绪释放出来。
告诉孩子，你理解他的感受，给孩子的情绪命名，帮助他知道自己的情绪是什么。
等他情绪释放了，平静下来后，再解释道理。
帮助他用同理心来理解别人。
让他知道怎么做更好，怎么做才能获得自己想要的东西。
几次之后，他就不会哭闹了，因为他知道了比哭闹更好的方法。
这些方法才是我们需要学习的现代教育。
停留在古代或上一辈人的教育思想里，只会限制孩子的成长，无法适应现代社会的发展。
打骂真的一无是处吗，很多伟人不就是靠打骂教育出来的吗？
这其实是典型的（Survivorship bias）。
很多人只看到伟人受过打骂，却没看到大部分人因为打骂而导致教育失败。
他们更没有看到，伟人的父母还用了很多打骂之外的教育方法，这才是他们成功的关键。
如果打骂就能教育好，古人应该个个是精英，现代教育也不会全面放弃这种教育方法。
1989 年通过的《联合国儿童权利公约》规定：“任何儿童不受酷刑或其它形式的残忍、不人道或有辱人格的待遇或处罚”。
家长在打骂孩子之前，要首先想一下，自己算不算现代社会里的文明人。
欧美国家已经普遍立法，在学校或家庭里禁止使用体罚。
下图是欧洲立法禁止体罚的国家统计：
绿色区域是无论家里，还是学校里，都禁止任何形式的体罚；
蓝色区域是在家里不禁止，但在学校里禁止体罚；
红色区域则是非洲、亚洲的伊斯兰国家，很多没有禁止体罚。

其实，禁止体罚儿童是近代才发生的进步，如果放到 1979 年以前，这张地图将全部是红色。
然而，随着文明程度的提高，随着心理学和教育学的进步，人们逐渐发现，体罚只是局部最优解，可以被更好的方法所替代的。
当然，这种观念的改变并不容易，即便在美国和加拿大，很多地区对体罚儿童还有争议，所以要完成观念的进步，可能还需要几代人的努力。
说起教育观念的改变，我认为对整个世界影响最大的，并不是什么权威的心理学理论，而是一部从 1985 到 1992 年，连续 7 年在美国创下最高收视率的情景喜剧——《》。

很多人可能不知道，90 年代初，中国引入这部电视剧时就产生过爆炸性的影响。
这部电视剧对中国老百姓的震撼，除了第一次看到情景喜剧，另一个就是教育观念上的颠覆。从第 1 集到 166 集，剧中的几个孩子犯了无数次错误，但他们的父母没有打骂过一次，都是用温暖的亲情和理性的说服来完美的化解危机。
我们第一次知道了，原来家庭教育除了打骂和服从之外，还可以用亲情和讲理的方式来进行教育。在当时，立刻彻底颠覆了众多父母的教育观念，当然也包括我的父母。我清楚的记着，看这部喜剧之前，我的父母还经常把“棍棒底下出孝子”、“不打不成器”挂在嘴边，看完之后这些话就再也没有说过，虽然偶尔还骂我，但再也没有打过我。
不仅中国父母，各国的父母都从这部喜剧里学到了现代教育的理念和方法。剧中父亲的扮演者艾伦·锡克（Alan Thicke）多年被评为年度最佳父亲，他认为这才是他最值得骄傲的荣誉，超过了其他任何奖项。

遗憾的是，艾伦·锡克在 2016 年 12 月因为突发心脏病去世。69 岁的他，在去世之前还在和儿子打冰球，真是无愧于最佳父亲的称号。
我认为这部喜剧至少把教育观念的进步提速了一代人的时间。
你现在看到的这篇文章，就是这部喜剧对我的影响，我所写的大部分教育理念，追根溯源都可以从这部电视剧里找到。
如果你不愿意看抽象烧脑的心理学和教育学书籍，你至少可以找出这部喜剧，和自己的爱人一起观看。在笑声中，我们心中的坚冰会逐渐融化，我们不仅会憧憬那种温暖、理性的家庭氛围，也会相信自己能用现代教育营造出美满的家庭。
打骂会造成什么负面影响？以至于各国需要立法来禁止体罚？
简单的说，打骂会造成两方面的负面影响，一是对教育者，二是对孩子。
对家长和老师来说，因为人的社会性动物本能，对孩子体罚会马上见到效果，这是成本很低的教育方法，是局部最优解。如果不禁止体罚，他们会一直使用体罚，不会去考虑替代性的教育方法。
我们知道，立法机构如果不制定环境保护法，来限制工厂的污染排放，工厂会一直污染下去，不会寻找替代性的清洁生产方法。因为污染是成本最低的局部最优解。
而法律提高了成本，把人们赶出了局部最优解，不得不减少工厂污染，老师、家长也不得不去寻找更好的替代性教育方法，找到更好的局部最优解。
可是体罚对孩子造成了哪些负面影响？
体罚会让孩子感到害怕和恐惧，因为孩子对痛苦的耐受力远远低于成人，所以孩子所承受的精神压力也远大于成人。即便是成人，如果长期生活在高压力下，也会损害健康罹患疾病，同样，长期的压力也会对孩子健康造成严重损害。
不过，生病还是能被家长及时发现的，只要治疗孩子很快可以康复。最棘手的，是对孩子造成的精神创伤，这些创伤是无形的，并不会以明显的方式暴露出来。因为隐藏和难以发现，所以也更难以被修复，这就让它们所造成的影响更为持久。
最典型的负面影响是习得性无助、暴力倾向、抑郁症、缺乏自制力、以及家庭关系疏远，这些问题在童年时都不明显，家长们很难觉察，意识不到危害。一旦孩子成年，进入社会开始独立生活，家长才会突然发现自己酿成了大错，需要付出几倍的代价才能挽回。但因为成本高昂，多数人的结局是彻底放弃，永远无法挽回。
关于这些负面效应已经有大量的心理学、教育学研究可以证实，我不能每一个都展开，只选择习得性无助这一个来做分析。
认为打骂有效的家长，他们都会为自己孩子的服从、乖巧、孝顺而自豪，但其实这些表现都是短期收益，是孩子真实情感被掩盖后，所营造出来的假象。
真相是，你的孩子已经陷入了习得性无助。
什么是习得性无助（Learned Helplessness）？
1967 年，心理学家马丁 · 塞利格曼(Martin E.P. Seligman），通过一个经典实验提出了习得性无助理论。
这个实验有些残忍，他对笼子的一半通电，狗受到电击就会逃避，逃到笼子的另一边。

但是如果笼子的另一边也通上电，狗在反复逃避之后发现，无论怎么逃避都是徒劳的，就学会了停止逃避。以后再被电击时，狗不再逃避，即使另一半笼子不通电，把障碍去掉，狗宁愿被动接受电击也还是不逃避。
这种陷入了无助情绪，停止逃避的行为是后天习得的，所以叫习得性无助。
习得性无助会让人认为一切努力都是徒劳无益的，它会像一个玻璃天花板，你看不见它，但它会阻止你向上突破。
孩子是弱小的，当家长用打骂来让孩子服从时，孩子就像笼子里小狗一样惊恐，不知所措。因为只有表现出服从和听话的样子，才能避免继续被伤害，他们无力反抗只能选择放弃。这就是打骂所驯化出来的习得性无助。
我们也知道，任何创造性的发明和突破性的成就，都离不开人们勇于试错和挑战。如果遇到困难就轻易放弃努力，这些发明和成就永远无法产生。人们会困在局部最优解里，找不到更优的方法。
如果一个孩子从小就习惯性的放弃，习惯性的顺从，那他成人后就无法从事创造性的工作，也无法带领团队去克服困难。这种习得性无助会让他不敢面对风险，会成为他一生的玻璃天花板。他不能创造、不能管理，只能做一些没有风险的、简单重复性的工作，一生勤劳辛苦，但终生贫穷而默默无闻。
很多家长既不愿意放弃打骂，也不愿意去学习现代教育的方法，他认为这些努力都是徒劳的，还是几千年传统教育方法好。这种思维其实也是习得性无助，和笼子里反复电击都不动的小狗是一样的。这是他们的玻璃天花板，是逃不出的心智陷阱。
在古代和近代，这种服从习惯还问题不大，因为社会发展缓慢，即使在社会底层也能有大量简单重复的工作可以做。但在未来社会，技术发展会一直加速，社会底层所从事的低端简单重复工作，会快速的被自动化机器人和人工智能所取代。
社会不再需要那么多只知道服从的人，而是需要更多不断取得创新和突破的人才。

没有工作就没有尊严，就没有幸福感。你现在用打骂教育出来的顺从、乖巧的孩子，将来会陷入缺少工作和幸福的悲惨境地，而这一切和家长打骂有直接的关系，因为习得性无助扼杀了孩子的创造力和挑战的勇气。
你真的想培养出这样的孩子吗？
跳出上一辈人的打骂教育经验吧，那只是原始最优解！
这会让你的孩子直接受益，如果下一代也能用在自己的后代身上，通过不断的改进，你的子子孙孙都能从中获益。
但如果你走不出老一辈的方法，你的孩子也会和你一样被困在陷阱里，你的子子孙孙都突破不了这个玻璃天花板。
不要再依赖于立竿见影的打骂，为了孩子也是为了自己，请去学习现代教育的知识和方法，那才是科学先进的。
打骂所造成的习得性无助等负面影响，在孩子成年后将成为限制他的玻璃天花板。
打骂和溺爱都不是教育的范畴，只是家长在缺少教育方法的情况下，摸索出的最容易的出路。
几千年来，虽然人们曾用打骂作为教育手段，但也有很多教育方法可以完全替代打骂。
现代教育还需要惩罚，但已经不依赖于打骂，禁止在学校和家庭打骂孩子是教育进化的方向。
放弃打骂是走出原始最优解的第一步，现代心理学、教育学才是科学先进的，是值得学习的。

Some methods I use are Grammar Translation which is translating from English into your native language.
